Founded in 1984, PharmaNet today is a global drug development services company offering clinical development solutions, comprehensive Phase I-IV clinical capabilities, pharmaceutical and regulatory expertise, and a full spectrum of bioanalytical services. From a single location, we have grown into a worldwide enterprise with some 2,400 employees and a worldwide presence. Our continued growth has been the result of building trusted and effective client relationships through a philosophy of focused client service, professional integrity, depth of experience and the strategic acquisition of complementary businesses.

Key acquisitions came in 2002 when the company purchased Anapharm, Inc., significantly adding to our early stage clinical capabilities, and in 2004 when we acquired PharmaNet, Inc., and its global subsidiaries, forming the backbone of our late stage development services.

In 2009, PharmaNet was acquired by JLL Partners, a leading private equity investment. Other key milestones are detailed below:

2001 August: Acquired Keystone Analytical, Inc. Philadelphia, PA Bioanalytical laboratory

February: Acquired Lee Coast Research, Inc., Ft. Meyers, FL which was later discontinued in 2006 Early stage clinical trials
2002 March: Acquired Anapharm, Inc. with locations in Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto (opened 2007), CN Early stage clinical trials and clinical laboratory services

September: Acquired New Drug Services, Inc., Kennett Square, PA. Later renamed PharmaNet Specialized Services, Inc. Biostatistical and data management services
2003 March: Acquired Synfine Research Inc., Toronto, Canada Chemical synthesis

July: Acquired remaining portion of New Drug Services Canada, London, Ontario, not previously owned by Anapharm Late stage clinical trials management

August: Acquired Clinical Pharmacology Associates, Miami, FL Early stage clinical trials

October: Invested in a 49% interest in joint venture: Anapharm Europe, S.L. located in Barcelona, Spain Bioanalytical Laboratory
2004 July: Acquired Taylor Technology, Inc., Princeton, NJ Bioanalytical Laboratory

December: Acquired PharmaNet, Inc. and its subsidiaries with eleven offices in North America, ten offices in Europe, eight offices in Asia, and one in Latin America Late stage clinical trials management
2006 May: Discontinued operations in Florida

August: The Company name was changed to PharmaNet Development Group, Inc.
2007 June: The Company opens new Phase I facilities in Quebec City and Toronto Canada. New late stage offices are opened in Brussels, Milan and Zurich
2008 January: The Company adds protein chemistry and immunoassay capabilities through an asset purchase Immunochemistry laboratory
2009 March: The Company is acquired by JLL Partners, a leading private equity investment firm with approximately $4 billion of capital under management
2010 PharmaNet is a global drug development services company, offering clinical development solutions including regulatory consulting services, Phase I clinical studies, bioequivalency and pharmacodynamic studies, bioanalytical analysis, and Phase II though IV clinical development programs
