Expertise: Small-molecule drugs, oncology, and osteoporosis

Dr. Lacasse has nearly 10 years of industry experience, including more than 4 years in contract research and more than 5 years in pharmaceutical and biotechnology development. He has been involved in several early drug development programs for small molecules, anticancer drugs, and other pharmaceutical products. As Associate Director of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Xanthus Life Sciences, he managed the development of oncological Drug Substances and Drug Products. At Merck Frosst, Dr. Lacasse was responsible for formulation development of an osteoporosis compound, as well as managing the Phase I clinical study of an anti-inflammatory drug. He has been a guest lecturer on numerous occasions at the University of Montreal and is a member of many scientific associations including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the Controlled Release Society (CRS) and the Society of Biomaterials.
