Dr. Smit-Marshall is a physician and pharmacologist in the United Kingdom with twenty years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently based in the Netherlands, she is responsible for providing medical support to clinical studies conducted in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Throughout her career she has been involved in clinical development planning, clinical trial management, medico-marketing activities and medical monitoring including pharmacovigilance. Dr. Smit-Marshall also provides consulting support to clients on development planning, regulatory submissions and evaluation of drug candidates. Her therapeutic areas of interest include pediatrics (schizophrenia, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, atopic dermatitis, allergic disorders, growth disorders and neonatal nutrition), cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology and neurology. She is chairperson of the Institute of Clinical Research's Special Interest Group on Pediatrics.
