| Challenge: | The sponsor was conducting a double-blind Phase III, pivotal trial of a new drug to treat HCV. To meet requirements for genotypes 1 – 6, the study needed to recruit 900 patients at 100 sites in 12 countries. To complicate recruitment, the study specifically excluded all patients previously treated with either interferon or pegylated interferon. |
| Outcome: | PharmaNet’s Infectious Disease team completed enrollment 3 months earlier than anticipated, with an average accrual rate of 1 patient per site per month. |
